About us
Bleacher Family is a family owned and operated business, the idea of which began when one of our loved ones, Bonnie, was diagnosed with cancer.
During this difficult time, family and friends wanted to showcase their love and unity as a source of strength to Bonnie as she battled this disease, so we created hand-woven pink and white bracelets, adorned with a silver heart and Bonnie’s initials, for everyone in Bonnie’s Bracelet Brigade to proudly wear.
With the support of family and friends, Bonnie fought valiantly against her illness, surviving much longer than any doctor had predicted. It is in tribute to Bonnie’s courage and strength that we share with you this original bracelet design, and it is why we annually contribute a portion of our profits to the American Cancer Society.
Over the years as our children got older and began participating in organized sports, we wanted a way to demonstrate our support of their efforts. We thought of no better way than to create a sports-themed bracelet tradition rooted in the same values of Family, Strength and Love that were embodied in Bonnie’s original bracelet.
So, every season as our kids played football, basketball and baseball at the Youth, Scholastic, AAU and Collegiate levels, we made personalized bracelets in team colors, adorned with sports charms, and silver beads showcasing their uniform number, initials or name.
We gave these bracelets out to family and friends so they could share in the support of our kids and their teams. We never took them off during the season! As we sat in the bleachers watching games, fellow parents and fans would ask us about our bracelets and how they could buy one for their favorite athlete and team. So, we made bracelets for family and friends of our kids’ teammates and gave them away. Soon, the bleachers were full of fans wearing our personalized sports bracelets.
As demand for our bracelets grew from parents and fans of other teams, programs, schools and colleges, we realized we could turn this simple concept into a small, family-run business, and BleacherFamily.com was born. The concept today is the same as it was from the start—to enable passionate friends and family to showcase their love and support of a favorite athlete and team.
In honor of Bonnie’s original inspiration, and to support our loved ones outside the world of sport, we began making bracelets with hearts, four leaf clovers and other symbols to celebrate life’s most important milestones and events—weddings, baby showers, anniversaries, birthdays, and other special dates and journeys.
Thank you for joining the Bleacher Family and sharing the love.
